section 10 of the Ordinance which limits the privilege of
note issue until and including the 12th July, 1939, the day
on which it is understood, the privilege of note issue
granted to the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China
expires. Condition (b) has been observed by the giving of

As the introduction of the bill was approved by the
Secretary of State it seems unnecessary to report on it in
detail, but a copy of the bill in the form in which it was
passed is annexed to this report in case it may be desired
to refer again to the Objects and Reasons, Tables of
Correspondence or Index.

It is regretted that in section 17 the omission of
the year in the mention of the Companies Ordinance, 1911,
and the absence of a reference to the number and year of
that Ordinance in the marginal note, were overlooked.

In my opinion this is an Ordinance to which His
Excellency the Governor may properly assent in the name of
His Majesty and on His behalf.
